If you have public water, simply contact the office where you pay your water bill. They should have current water testing records on file. If you are on a private water system, then contact your county health department to see about taking in a sample of water to be tested.

Yes… with the exception of your outside tap. If you soften just the hot water, as soon as it is combined with cold water it reverts back to being hard water. Therefore, both hot and cold need softened.
